Kitchen Tips
May 21, 2009
by Jodi Granok - Organizing Magic, LLC

I love pairing activities together. Every Monday evening, my husband takes the trash out - but first, we clean out the refrigerator. I check all of the leftovers to see if they are "past their prime". Then I check the expiration dates on all items, and pitch the ones that are no longer fresh. Finally, I go to the crisper and look at all of the fruits and veggies to make sure nothing is getting slimy or growing fuzz!

We keep a grocery list on a magnetic pad on our refrigerator, so as I pitch expired items, I write them on the grocery list. I also check the pantry, and add any items that we are running low on.

The best part - I don't have to worry about spoiled food making our trash (and kitchen) smell bad, because the trash is taken outside immediately after our "pitch party"!

What kitchen tricks do you have? Let me know!
