Vacation Tips - Part 1

With
Memorial Day just around the corner, thoughts turn to summer vacation
and traveling. Here are a few of my favorite traveling tips:
- I
keep a spreadsheet on my computer year-round for vacation ideas. When
we read about an interesting new tourist attraction in the newspaper or
online, I record it. I also write down unique restaurants that are
profiled on various Food Network shows.
- Prior
to each vacation, I do a bit of online research to get ideas on
attractions, hotels, and restaurants. I also ask my family and friends
for suggestions - especially my online friends, who live all over the
world!
- My
husband and I each keep a journal on longer trips (10 days or more) to
capture our favorite memories. We have found that the stories we write
really enhance our photos!
- I
collect business cards from the places we go, whether it is a museum,
store, or restaurant. It helps us remember favorite spots if we revisit
that city on a future trip.
