Weight Loss Tips You Might Not Know About June 17, 2009
by Jodi Granok - Organizing Magic, LLC
Like
many people this summer, I am trying to lose weight. I have never been a
fan of diets, and I struggle to motivate myself to exercise regularly.
But recently, I have found some success from three tips that are a bit
"off the beaten trail". I am curious to know if you have tried any of
these:
- Milk Really Does a Body Good
- Each night, I have a glass of milk in the later part of the evening.
It quiets any hunger pangs I might have been building, gives me calcium,
and a shot of protein to boot. Yum!
- More is Less
- It's the newest craze, have you heard it? One trick for eating less
food is to get more sleep. Many doctors say that less than 7 hours of
sleep causes our bodies to crave more food, specifically carbohydrates,
which are one of the things we try to curb in order to lose weight. So,
count back 7 or 8 hours from when you need to get up in the morning, and
go to bed!
- If You Need Motivation, Pick the Right Reward
- Over the years, I tried all kinds of rewards to motivate me to
exercise, such as hanging up a favorite pair of jeans that I wanted to
be able to wear again. Until this summer, I never found a good reward
that stuck. My solution? Television. Crazy, I know - but for me, it
works. I love the show LOST, and it is on hiatus until the final season
resumes in January or February 2010. To pass the time, I decided I
wanted to rewatch the series online, a few episodes a week. Enter my
brilliant idea - I can only watch an episode after I finish a workout
routine. Who knew my sedentary hobby of watching television could help
me lose weight?!
I
hope that my weight continues to lessen over the next several months,
and would love to hear some of your favorite weight loss tricks!
