Donation Sites

Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry   www.jfcs-stl.org/m-about.php        (314) 993-1000

The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry provides nutritionally balanced meals, and delivers to those clients unable to visit its office.  In addition, clients who find themselves in difficult economic circumstances may qualify for financial assistance provided through special community-designated funds.  As a community agency, they assist anyone in need of their services, regardless of religious background.

MERS/Goodwill                                   www.mersgoodwill.org                       (314) 241-3464

When you donate and recycle your unneeded items to Goodwill they make them available to your neighbors at affordable prices. The revenue that their forty stores earn is then invested in your community through a variety of services including skills training courses and employment programs. Your donation to Goodwill is making a difference to improve the life of someone in your community.

NCJW Resale Shop                             www.ncjwstl.org/resale.html              (314) 692-8141
The NCJW Resale Shop sells quality new and gently-used clothing for women and men, accessories, jewelry, furniture and more, plus an upscale women’s designer boutique.  Proceeds benefit the National Council of Jewish Women - St. Louis Section and its community service and advocacy projects and programs.

Operation Food Search                      www.operationfoodsearch.org             (314) 726-5355

Operation Food Search works tirelessly to fight hunger in more ways than one.  In addition to collecting and distributing food throughout the bi-state region, they go beyond just supplying agencies with free food.  With comprehensive nutrition education programs, an innovative weekend backpack program, and environmentally-friendly green initiatives, Operation Food Search fights hunger with knowledge, empowerment, and hope.

Project Backpack                             www.projectbackpackstlouis.org           (314) 993-3033

Project Backpack provides emergency services by furnishing area police departments, social service agencies, domestic violence shelters and Department of Family Services workers with backpacks for children who are removed from their homes usually with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

The backpacks are age and gender appropriate and make the transition from crises situations to foster homes more tolerable. Often this is all the children will have with them for quite some time.  These backpacks are filled with necessary items such as sleep tees; socks; a variety of toiletries; school supplies such as paper, crayons and pencils; games; books; and stuffed toys.

Salvation Army                                      www.stlarc.org                               (314) 535-0057

The Salvation Army ARC currently operates eight Family Stores in the St. Louis metro area. These Family Stores account for most of the income that the Adult Rehabilitation
Center requires to operate.

Materials that are donated by the community are collected and sorted before distribution to the Family Stores.  The processing of these donations also becomes a medium for the vocational therapy for the men in our program.
